CAPITALIZATION IN BOLIVIA
A proven concept, capitalization is a feasible option to attract private capital into strategic companies as was the case in Bolivia that brought investments to 9 companies amounting to 25% of the country’s GDP and transforming the country into a hydrocarbon hub with exports of gas to Brazil and Argentina and significant improvements in the sectors of energy, telecommunications and transport. In Haiti, capitalization rescued 3 companies in the cement, flour mill and telecommunications sectors and is currently in the process of capitalizing the sugar sector. Massive funds brought by private investors and experienced operators multiplied many times the company values and expanded significantly the volume of sales.
